A Journey of Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

“At intalenta, we value the growth and development of our talents. One of our talented team members -Rizky Arifin – recently shared their story, and we’re excited to highlight his journey.

Here is what he shared :

“Struggling with imposter syndrome was tough. I realized it could kill my potential and almost led me away from a golden opportunity if I wasn’t in the right hands. This is one of the lessons I learned from my career experience.

I’ve questioned if I was ready for a senior position despite having five years of experience. I worried I might hold the team back and if I hadn’t enough talent. These doubts grew in my first month at intalenta.

Sadly, I didn’t just stop at questioning my potential. The worst part is… I chose to give up before even trying! I hadn’t given it a chance to show all I could do. How could the company see my full potential in just a month? But these self-doubts were like a parasite that led me to give up.

Adapting to a new city, meeting colleagues from Switzerland and Serbia, and dealing with language barriers added to the cultural shock and challenges I faced. Realizing how tough things were, I reached out to my HR rep, Sri, for help.

She listened and reassured me, which was a big step in facing my doubts and fears. I shared my worries, aiming to find solutions by speaking up. The management team at intalenta has been really supportive and understanding. They’ve been proactive in addressing my concerns and offering advice, which has helped me deal with my struggles.

Now, it no longer feels like I’m facing it alone. Every day, I feel lighter, thanks to my colleagues’ encouragement and help. I’m motivated to not let down those who trust me, so I put all my effort into overcoming struggles and delivering excellent results.

I wanted to understand myself better and reach my potential. With honest feedback from the management team, I found areas to grow, setting the stage for personal and professional development.

As I got more into my work, my confidence grew. Positive feedback from a client in Switzerland, the support of my colleagues and managers, recognition from my CTO – Amar, and the chance to contribute to the company’s success boosted my confidence and confirmed my place in the team even more. As I got more comfortable in my role, I started making valuable contributions to company projects.

Looking back at my tough first month at Intalenta, I’m grateful for the challenges I faced and the growth I experienced. By persevering, seeking help, and confronting my fears, I became stronger.

I’m thankful for being in the right hands during my struggles. Having a great partner and work environment is crucial for leveling up my value.”
